Story of a Freshman

“… there are choices we must make from time to time, decisions that we can later look back on from any age plate and recall how bitter sadness or triumphant joy depending on how they affected the years that followed.” – Og Mandino

Looking back at our freshman year, the time when people saw us as children and them we saw as adults.
Always it seemed we were treated as much as our sizes permitted. The hallways seemed so huge, Agham so long, and the minutes passed like hours. What it was like to be a freshman was a thing we had to outgrow.
Freshman year brought us into newer perspective and our youth gave us the excuses to make the mistakes.
It was significant for most of us, as it taught us at that young stage to be independent but likewise brought us the feeling of insecurity as we entered an unfamiliar arena of adults. With it came the pressures to make it, pressures both within us and those around us. Most of us were egotists, each trying to outdo the other. Eventually, however, we learned to depend upon ourselves. As special people in a special place we became ordinary.
The Chinese have a saying which goes, “a journey of thousand miles begin with but a single step” and freshman year perhaps was our first step on to what we were to become years after.
